Pages and emails in French or English
Public pages are translated into English; the language follows the visitor’s choice, then their browser.
What it is for
Serve English-speaking clients without any setup.
Before you start
None. For automatic emails in English, see Automations in English.
Step by step
- At the bottom of each public page, click English (or Français).
- The choice is kept for a year in the browser.
- With no choice, the browser’s language is used: English if preferred, otherwise French.
Expected result
The page, dates and common messages are translated. Text written by the provider (titles, descriptions) stays in their language.
Tips
- An address can force the language with
&lang=enor&lang=fr.
Common problems
- Part of the page stays in French.
- Texts unknown to the dictionary (for example a description typed by the provider) are not translated.
- The client sees the page in the wrong language.
- Have them click the selector at the bottom of the page.
