Connect PayPal
Client ID and Secret of a PayPal app: PayPal account or card, in CAD, USD or EUR.
What it is for
Offer PayPal as a payment method.
Before you start
Owner role. A PayPal app (Apps & Credentials) and an account currency of CAD, USD or EUR.
Step by step
- In developer.paypal.com › Apps & Credentials, create an app and copy Client ID and Secret.
- In Rendezvix: Settings › Payments › Mobile money and other payment methods › PayPal.
- Enter Client ID, Secret and choose the Mode (Production or Test (sandbox)).
- Tick Offer this payment method to my clients then Save.
Expected result
The label changes to Active. The client sees PayPal among the payment methods.
Tips
- PayPal uses no webhook on the Rendezvix side: the payment is checked when the client returns.
- Use Test mode to try it out, then switch back to Production.
Common problems
- “Incomplete configuration: fill in all required fields before activating.”
- Client ID or Secret missing.
- “PayPal only accepts these account currencies: CAD, USD, EUR. Change the currency above.”
- Change the account currency (Currency and taxes).
- Payment fails on the client side.
- Test/Production mode is the wrong way round for the credentials, or the PayPal app is not approved.
