Mobile money and cards in Africa
Flutterwave, Paystack, CinetPay: Orange Money, MTN MoMo, Wave, M-Pesa and cards, with an exchange rate that you set.
What it is for
Collect in CFA francs, naira, cedi, shilling, rand… depending on your clients’ country.
Before you start
Owner role. An account with the chosen provider. Available payments: Flutterwave (mobile money, cards, transfer), Paystack (Nigeria, Ghana, South Africa, Kenya), CinetPay (French-speaking Africa: Orange Money, MTN MoMo, Moov Money, Wave).
Step by step
- Click Settings › Payments › Mobile money and other payment methods, then expand the provider.
- Enter the keys requested (for example Secret key and Webhook secret hash for Flutterwave; API key and Site ID for CinetPay).
- Choose the Currency charged to the client. If it differs from your account currency, enter the Exchange rate (number of units of that currency for 1 unit of the account currency).
- With the provider, enter the notification (webhook) address shown by Rendezvix (it ends with
pay-hook.php?g=followed by the provider’s name). - Tick Offer this payment method to my clients and click Save.
Expected result
The label changes to Active. The choice page shows the approximate amount in the billed currency.
Tips
- Rendezvix has no external exchange source: the rate is the one you enter.
- CinetPay rounds the amount up to the next 5 units.
- Delete erases the provider’s configuration.
Common problems
- “Enter the exchange rate: the chosen currency is different from your account’s.”
- Enter the rate.
- “Incomplete configuration …”
- A required field is empty.
- The payment is made but not confirmed.
- The provider’s webhook is not set up at the address given, or the secret does not match. See “Awaiting payment” booking: what to check?.
